“Sharia Police” in Germany Go On Trial For Enforcing Religious Zones

Eight Islamic extremists who patrolled the streets of Wuppertal, Germany in “Sharia police” vests are now eligible to face a trial on grounds of “violating laws against wearing uniforms with political messages”. The Salafists, who reject any form of democracy and practice a very conservative interpretation of Islam, attempted to enforce their beliefs by going inside night clubs and demanding that people stop drinking, gambling and listening to music. The latest ruling by the Court of Appeal cannot be overturned. Nik Zecevic and Margaret J. Howel take a closer look at the court ruling and the actions of the Salafists on the Lip News.
