The terrorist who stabbed two people in the Mall of America in Minnesota confirmed to the court his crime was “an act of Jihad in the way of Allah,” reported ABC5 Eyewitness News.
Last Thursday, terrorist Mahad Abdiaziz Adbiraham pleaded guilty to stabbing two people at the bathroom of Macy’s on November 12.
Abdiraham’s attorney read a statement to the court in which he claimed responsibility for the attack in the name of the Islamic State terrorist group.
The statement said he answered the “call for jihad by the Chief of Believer, Abu-bakr Al-baghdadi, may Allah protect him, and by the Mujahiden of the Islamic State.”
The lawyer told the court on Abdiraham’s behalf: “I understand that the two men I stabbed know and have explained the reason for my attack, and I am here reaffirming that it was indeed an act of Jihad in the way of Allah.”
Abdiraham said that Americans will not be safe while “your country is at war with Islam.”
The Islamic State is an Islamist terror group which proclaimed an Islamic Caliphate in 2014 in Iraq and Syria. It implements sharia as state law and carries out brutal hudud punishments, including the death penalty for gay people, adulterers and blasphemers. It seeks to wage war against the West until Western civilization is destroyed and everyone in the world submits to their fundamentalist vision of Islam.
