Detroit Radio Station: WJR and the Frank Beckmann Show – What happened?
Katie had a pre-scheduled in studio interview with Frank Beckmann on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 9:30 AM. Katie woke up at 5:30am that morning to get ready for the interview. She was picked up at 7:30am out in Oxford MI by Dick Manasseri and followed by Katie’s camera crew. At approximately 8:45am, the two car team was on Grand Blvd, just blocks from the Fisher Building when Dick received a phone call from the producer of the Frank Beckmann Show. He told Dick that the interview was cancelled due to “breaking news”. Dick wondered what the breaking news could be. The producer said they were discussing the MSU settlement with the Larry Nassar victims, which WJR dedicated the first half hour of the show to.
Katie not satisfied, called the producer to ask if she could just have five minutes, as they were now in the parking lot of the Fisher Building. The answer was NO. She asked if she could record a quick segment, or call in the third hour of the show as it was Open Line time. The answer again was NO. Frank Beckmann gave no reason for cancelling Katie and he went on to discuss golf during the 9:30 time slot.
Who made the decision to cancel the interview? Did they believe that as some say, Katie is a racist or Islamaphobe? Those who say this are afraid of the truth! WJR folded to the pressure!
