Have the citizens of Michigan been targeted for an Influence Operation? There is much evidence to answer that question with “Yes”. What is an Influence Operation? Google Dictionary defines it as: the exertion of force, power, or influence. And I would add a personal commentary that “exertion of force” does not necessarily mean physical force, it could be defined by a candidate running for office and the rhetoric used to define his campaign. So, where and how was this Influence Operation used? Pay close attention to details being released in the remaining days prior to the Michigan Primary that are giving a clearer picture of who Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed is, who he is aligning with, who is showing up in Michigan to support him, and what happens when confronted with tough questions.
A team was in Michigan to participate in many of the Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed campaign events to get to know this candidate for Governor.
Think about this… why is it acceptable for non-Muslims to be asked how their religion affects their candidacy, but it’s Islamaphobic to ask a Muslim how Islam would affect their candidacy?
