On November 15, 2018, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel spoke before the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission where he was confronted by Investigative journalist Laura Loomer. Loomer urged the committee to investigate Israel and consider whether they want such a corrupt and incompetent individual serving as their Sheriff following the Parkland school shooting.
