Since about 2009 when U.S. public-schools started introducing Islamic-related lesson plans into their curricula, there has been no corresponding instruction on Christianity, its major religious tenets or the positive impact it has had on Western civilization.
Historic figures such as explorer Christopher Columbus and President George Washington have taken on increasingly negative profiles in many schools, where “white privilege” is taught as the biggest sin handed down from our forefathers. [One Chicago-area middle school actually pressed criminal charges against Christopher Columbus in a 2017 mock trial].
Meanwhile, the instruction on Islam has in many cases crossed the line from a factual/historical analysis of the Muslim world to basically advocating for the superiority of Islam over other faiths. Muhammad is presented as a positive figure who fought for social justice and equal rights.
Take for example the case of Caleigh Wood, a Christian and 11th-grader at La Plata High School in Maryland. She was taught in the 2015-16 school year that “Most Muslims’ faith is stronger than the average Christian.”
She was also required to profess, in writing, the Islamic conversion creed: “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
Wood believes it is a sin to profess, by word or in writing, that there is any other god except the Christian God. She stood firm in her Christian beliefs. The school refused her request to opt-out or give her an alternative assignment. She refused to complete what she considered to be an anti-Christian assignment and consequently received a failing grade.
The Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Thomas More Law Center has seen enough.
TMLC filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Wood claiming the school had violated the First Amendment Establishment Clause and her right not to be forced to profess faith in another religion. Both the federal district court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the high school’s Islamic curriculum.
In response, on Monday of this week, May 13, TMLC filed a petition asking the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether any legal basis exists to allow public schools to discriminate against Christianity while at the same time promote Islam.
“Under the guise of teaching history or social studies, public schools across America are promoting the religion of Islam in ways that would never be tolerated for Christianity or any other religion,” said Richard Thompson, TMLC’s president and chief counsel.
“I’m not aware of any school which has forced a Muslim student to write the Lord’s Prayer or John 3:16: ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’”
Yet, schools have become willing instruments of Islamic indoctrination, and in Caleigh Wood’s case, the weapon of choice was the PowerPoint presentation. Caleigh and her 11th grade classmates were taught:
- “Most Muslim’s faith is stronger than the average Christian.”
- “Islam at heart is a peaceful religion.”
- Jihadis a “personal struggle in devotion to Islam, especially involving spiritual discipline.”
- “To Muslims, Allah is the same God that is worshiped in Christianity and Judaism.”
- “Men are the managers of the affairs of women” and “Righteous women are therefore obedient.”
Those statements, par for the course at public schools across the U.S., came directly from the PowerPoint presentation given to Caleigh’s class. The underlining was in the PowerPoint.
- Some schools in states with large Muslim populations have even started closing in honor of Islamic holidays. Detroit public schools last month announced it would join Dearborn and Hamtramck public schools in closing for Eid El Fitr, the holiday that marks the end of the Ramadan fast.
- In the Seattle area, teachers are urged to “bless” their Muslim students in Arabic each day during Ramadan.
- Schools in states such as Minnesota, Texas and Michigan have special Islamic prayer rooms where Muslim students can pray during school hours without having to leave campus.
“Many public schools have become a hot bed of Islamic propaganda,” Thompson said. “Teaching Islam in schools has gone far beyond a basic history lesson. Prompted by zealous Islamic activism and emboldened by confusing court decisions, schools are now bending over backwards to promote Islam while at the same time denigrate Christianity. We are asking the Supreme Court to provide the necessary legal guidance to resolve the insidious discrimination against Christians in our public schools.”
Time to boot the Brotherhood
Hotbeds of Islamic propaganda. That’s exactly what the Muslim Brotherhood has been working on accomplishing since it established a presence in the U.S. in 1965. The Brotherhood has spawned dozens of Muslim front groups with the purpose of furthering Islamic supremacy in American cultural institutions.
In its own words, the Brotherhood’s “work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within,” so that “Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” [See theExplanatory Memorandum, May 19, 1991, by Mohamed Akram, seized by FBI in 2004.]
President Trump has said he wants to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization but is getting serious resistance from “experts” and “professionals” within the Pentagon and U.S. State Department — otherwise known as the deep state.
The Muslim Brotherhood created the Council on American-Islamic Relations in 1994, and it also spawned the Muslim Student Association, which operates on almost every college campus and in many U.S. high schools.
The Brotherhood has spun off many violent jihadists including Ayman al-Zawihiri, the current leader of al-Qaida. But even more dangerous than its terrorist activity is the Brotherhood’s relentless and well-funded work of propaganda, sedition and influence-peddling within our government, law enforcement, education, religious and media institutions.
Corrupting the churches
The Muslim Brotherhood, working through the Islamic Society of North America, the Islamic Circle of North America, the Muslim American Society, CAIR and other front groups, is also the main instigator of so-called inter-faith dialogues with Christian churches, where Muslim leaders are invited into church sanctuaries to preach about Islam without offering Christian pastors equal access to their people in the mosques. Much of what Christians are taught about Islam at these interfaith gatherings are falsehoods and half-truths.
It’s time to kick the Brotherhood out of our schools, our government, our churches, our nation.
