“Come, let us reason together, …”[i]
Sounds like a rational first step toward airing differences and reaching compromise, doesn’t it? Well, not to Democrats. When it comes to working with the President on any matter, the Left checked out of any meeting-of-minds a long time ago.
There’s no reasoning with people who refuse to listen.
Those of us who dared think the Democrats would eventually come to their senses, once they got over losing the 2016 presidential election, have given up on that. The Left is never going to accept this President.
The abnormal degree to which they’ve pressed their vehement dislike for all things Trump was bizarre enough, but their outright refusal to accept AG Bill Barr’s report—which was based on Bob Mueller’s two and half year, $35 million investigation[ii] that proved there was no Russia collusion—has taken on sinister tones. And coupled with their next game plan…to move ahead with impeaching the President, which they’ve threatened since the day he was elected…has gone from political dissent to outright sedition.
Sedition is “A revolt or an incitement to revolt against established authority, usually in the form of treason or defamation against government…It is the crime of revolting or inciting revolt against government… Generally, a person may be punished for sedition only when he or she makes statements that create a Clear and Present Danger to rights that the government may lawfully protect…”[iii]
Defamation of the President has come from members of the Democrat House and Senate, but Rep. Maxine Waters(D-CA), is by far the most vocal. Here’s a sampling of her venom:
“[T]his country is threatened with a president who does not belong there,” adding, “[Trump] thought he could come in here and run roughshod over everybody. And my mission and my goal is to make sure that he does not remain President of the United States of America.”[iv]
“Mr. Speaker, my position against this president and his administration is clear. I oppose this president. I do not honor this president. I do not respect this president,”
“When we fight against this president, and we point out how dangerous he is for this society and for this country, we’re fighting for the democracy. We’re fighting for America. We’re saying to those who say they’re patriotic, but they’ve turned a blind eye to the destruction that he’s about to cause this country, ‘You’re not nearly as patriotic as we are.’ … The president “is not good for America, … “
It’s quite clear in the lock-step refusal of democrats to work with the President reflects these same sentiments. It’s also clear they have no intention of doing anything unless things are done their way.
Rep. Waters is certainly entitled to state her unsubstantiated opinions, but as a member of Congress her vitriol, along with others, has generated a “clear and present dangerous hysteria” against the President of the United States and those who voted for him. Consider the following list of Ten Times Democrats Glorified Violence Against Republicans Since Election Day: [v]
- Congressman Steve Scalise and five others were shot by James Hodgkinson, a supporter of Bernie Sanders who had volunteered with his campaign. The shooter’s Facebook page features posts such as “Trump is Guilty & Should Go to Prison for Treason,” along with a link from a website called “ImpeachDJTNow,” and a slew of other liberal media hysterics.
- Hillary Clinton’s former running mate Tim Kaine called for Democrats to “fight in the streets against Trump.”
- The New York Times sponsored a play that featured the assassination of President Trump. “Shakespeare in the Park,” a contemporary update of the original, doesn’t refer to the president by name, but their Caesar character holds a striking resemblance to Trump and his wife has a Slavic accent similar to the First Lady. During the play, the Caesar character is shown fully nude, as well as tweeting from a bathtub before being stabbed to death by female and minority senators as an American Flag hangs beside them.
- BuzzFeed writers wish for Trump’s assassination in private office chats leaked to Big League Politics.
- Former CNN host Kathy Griffin’s infamous ISIS-inspired photo holding Trump’s decapitated head.
- Former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch posted a video in which she urged people to march and bleed in the streets to resist the president and his administration.
“It has been people, individuals who have banded together, ordinary people who simply saw what needed to be done and came together and supported those ideals who have made the difference. They’ve marched, they’ve bled and yes, some of them died. This is hard. Every good thing is. We have done this before. We can do this again,” Lynch stated.
- “Comedian” and DNC Speaker Sarah Silverman called for a military coup against President Trump.
- Madonna tells women’s march that she fantasizes about blowing up the White House.
- Rapper and actor Little Bow Wow (Shad Moss) threatened to pimp Melania Trump and “make her work for us.”
- In Los Angeles, an anti-Trump protester called for violence against Trump supporters on CNN. In the days after the election, an unhinged anti-Trump demonstrator asserted that “people have to die,” over the election results.
“If we don’t fight, then who will fight for us? People had to die for your freedom where we’re at today. We can’t just do rallies, we have to fight back. There will be casualties on both sides. There will be because people have to die to make a change in this world. Trump, enough with your racism. Stop splitting families. Don’t split my family.”
The Left’s vitriol against the President never stops. It comes from Hollywood ‘idols’, the mainstream media, daytime talk shows and nighttime ‘entertainment’ programs.
Joy Behar, co-host on The View and an avid Trump-hater, never misses an opportunity to slam the President—or Republicans either, for that matter. Her most recent punch was at both …“This is an unbelievable [sic]corrupt president, corrupt administration, and the Republican Party is right behind him, and they all should be thrown into jail as far as I’m concerned…Lock’em up!”[vi]
And the audience applauds her baseless nonsense…which proves that there’s nothing so absurd that, repeated often enough, people will believe it.[vii]
But on what did Behar base her false charges? The fact that the President’s former attorney, Don McGhan, did not comply with a subpoena to appear before the House Judiciary Committee.
McGhan had already cooperated with the Mueller investigation, spending over 30 hours testifying. Yet because the Democrats and all their liberal co-horts refused to accept the conclusion of Mueller’s two-and-half-year investigation, they decided to reinvestigate the matter. Come hell or high water, they’re determined to finagle the conclusion they want; the only one they’ll accept is Trump is guilty, so he must be impeached!.
The truth of the matter blows Behar’s hateful accusal to smithereens. Spelled out in a Justice Department memo addressed to current White House Counsel it states:
“… Congress inherently does not have the power to make the former White House Counsel talk to them about his work for President Donald Trump. The memo also said the president had the power to order McGahn not to testify and that Congress did not have the power to punish him—criminally or civilly—for following such an order.
“The immunity of the President’s immediate advisers from compelled congressional testimony on matters related to their official responsibilities has long been recognized and arises from the fundamental workings of the separation of powers,” … “Those principles apply to the former White House Counsel. Accordingly, Mr. McGahn is not legally required to appear and testify about matters related to his official duties as Counsel to the President.”[viii]
The tactic that Democrats and their liberal cohorts use to purposefully deceive people with fake news, false narratives and blatant lies doesn’t fit well in a Judeo-Christian culture where truth is esteemed. And the degree to which Democrat politicians have gone to ignore that fact shows how little regard they have for truth, if they have any at all.
Their hate-filled rhetoric has led to violence in public spaces. People’s rights have been violated; they’ve been accosted and even assaulted as a direct result of it. Wear a MAGA hat at your own peril. Having a TRUMP sticker on your car invites vandalism. Even college campuses aren’t safe for conservatives anymore. Yet the democrats persist in disparaging the President and those who support him.
At a rally on Capitol Hill, Rep. Waters encouraged attendees saying, “If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. You push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere!”[ix]
And it happened. Liberal activists started harassing members of the administration and their supporters, running them out of restaurants, sometimes even targeting their homes!
Such behavior does not fall under ‘free speech’ but criminal conduct, and the Democrats perpetuate it with their hateful, anti-Trump rhetoric.
They’ve harassed the President since the day of his election. Meanwhile, his supporters have had to put up with their vile bitterness…and more…while waiting for Mueller to complete his $35 million, two-and-a-half-year-long investigation. Finally, it ended, clearing the President of any Russia collusion—and now the democrats refuse to accept the verdict?!
Their unwillingness to stop at nothing to get what they want smacks of tyranny, as does their relentless attempt to force their will upon the rest of us. There comes a time when evidence demands a verdict, and the time has come to hold democrats accountable for inciting rebellion against our President.
Such an overly zealous commitment to deposing a leader is seditious behavior. It’s time to bring Federal charges of sedition against them.
