Have you seen any of these recent headlines?
“160 killed, 40 injured in Burkina Faso’s deadliest attack in years amid rise in Islamic extremism.”
“Nigeria: Muslims murder 3,462 Christians in 200 days”
“Iraq: Islamic State murders at least 30 people at Baghdad market.
“UK: Stabbed Christian preacher says frequent attacks by ‘Muslim mob’ makes Speaker’s Corner unsafe for Christians.”
America’s media rarely seems concerned with jihad attacks outside our borders. In the last two years, they’ve been even less concerned. News about the global spread of Islam has been crowded out by news about the global pandemic, rioting in the streets, a contested presidential election and the growing threat from China.
As a result, many have gained the impression that jihad activity has died down. But jihad hasn’t gone away. In fact—as attested by the headlines above—jihad violence has been spreading more quickly and widely than ever before.
Now, with the Taliban’s victory in Afghanistan, jihadists everywhere will be emboldened to ramp up their activities. There is even a strong possibility that America will be the target of large-scale attacks.
But that may not be necessary. In fact, from an Islamist point of view, a 9/11 type attack might be counterproductive. It would have the effect of waking up the millions of Americans who are still asleep to the realities of Islam. Islamic propagandists have already convinced many Americans that Islam is a religion of peace. And students at every level are indoctrinated with the same message.
Meanwhile, it appears that cultural jihadists have deeply penetrated the deep state. This infiltration has been aided and abetted by left-leaning politicians and government officials. For instance, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin recently appointed six radical Muslims to an eighteen-member Pentagon Committee on combatting extremism in the military. Appoint radical Muslims to root out radical extremists? It’s a classic case of letting the foxes guard the henhouse.
The subversion of our society is now so far advanced that most Americans are unlikely to recognize the spread of extremist Islam in our culture until it is too late. It was very late in the game that Americans realized that leftists had taken over much of our culture, that the corporate world had taken a hard left turn, and that the Chinese communists had far more influence over our society than anyone had realized. How likely is it that the same citizenry will recognize and resist stealth jihad in time?
At Turning Point Project we’ve been trying to alert Christians to these dangerous developments for a long time. Like it or not, we’re in the middle of a multi-front culture war, and none of us can afford to sit on the sidelines. What’s happening today to Christians in Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and the Middle East can happen here. If you appreciate our efforts to save our society from that grim fate, please consider making a contribution today.
