Mr. Sanow, a member of The United West team, is a 20+ year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and is an accomplished social skills instructor and expert at training military members and civilian intelligence personnel in the art of leveraging civilian business tools for the conduct of intelligence operations. Mr. Sanow retired from the CIA in 2009 and has taught business operations at the Advanced Tradecraft Center and the U.S. Army Joint Readiness Training Center. He served as a Senior Instructor with the Patriot Defense Group focused on providing PDG clients with the necessary planning, communications and field skills for U.S. government affiliated and commercial sector based intelligence operations.
Previously, Mr. Sanow lived and worked overseas in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia first as an agriculture development technician and then as a CIA field operations officer. In the CIA he served on several PCS assignments to include Chief of Station to a large US-based platform. Mr. Sanow was also the Chief of Group preventing the transfer of WMD related material at CIA Headquarters. He has studied and spoke Arabic, French and Greek languages. He has worked in a variety of security roles since his retirement, including Director of Security and Intelligence In Islamabad, Pakistan for the US Company building the US Embassy and General Manager of a large security company in Uganda. He owns his own private investigations company and is a licensed insurance adjuster, security officer and NRA pistol instructor.
