At a March 22, 2026 Dearborn fundraiser for Lebanon, held by the Metro Detroit Lebanese community and sponsored by the Lebanese consulate, event coordinator, community leader, and publisher of The Arab American News Osama Siblani said that in the United States they are 7,000 miles away from their homeland, and that a million of their relatives were displaced because the Israeli “beast” has attacked them, while Hizbullah “heroes” helped them. He said America is the center of savagery, calling the president a savage, liar, hypocrite, and deceiver.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) said that Israel is carrying out war crimes in South Lebanon, and criticized the Trump administration and the U.S. government for continuing to sell weapons to Israel, as well as Arab countries for remaining silent.
Osama Siblani, has openly supported Hizbullah and mourned its leader Hassan Nasrallah.
