William Shakespeare wrote, “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.” (CUE-STAGE RIGHT.) The world stage, February 28, 2026, President Trump delivers his first speech regarding the war in Iran with, “For 47 years, the Iranian regime has chanted ‘Death to America’ and waged an unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder, targeting the United States, our troops and the innocent people in many, many countries.”
Nevertheless, many continue to ask why the United States has gone to war with Iran.
Middle East expert and intelligence analyst Clare M. Lopez knows more than most about this part of the world. Lopez reports that both satellite imagery and ground reports have revealed that the Iranian regime was working on adapting nuclear warheads to the nose cones of its ballistic missiles. In addition, over 400+ kilograms of highly enriched uranium (HEU) went missing. Lopez points out that, “This HEU could be spun up to weapons grade, enough to make 10/11 nuclear warheads in the space of just a couple of weeks. That is why now, they (Netanyahu and Trump) decided they had to go (to war).”
Despite the aforementioned evidence, opposition to this war is taking place. Lopez offers ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ as a possible explanation and points out that anything President Trump does, and certainly in cooperation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, is automatically bad. “They don’t even know how close the Iranian regime was to developing nuclear weapons or the ballistic missile means to deliver such weapons. All they know is they hate Donald Trump. They hate Israel. They hate Bibi Netanyahu. Anything they are doing has got to be bad. Never mind that it’s in defense of the survival and the national security of both Israel and the United States, as well as we’re seeing now the entire Middle East region, as Iran, in retaliation, turns and attacks all of them. What we’re doing together, United States and Israel, is for the protection of our own national security, but as well of a much broader range across the Middle East region.”. That is why now, they (Netanyahu and Trump) decided they had to go (to war).”
Moreover, the United States is no stranger to war, both at home and abroad. In fact, since 1776, the United States has been involved in some form of military conflict for approximately 235 of its 250 years. Why has so much of our 250-year history been flooded with war?
Why now with Iran? Perhaps the answer is much more than ‘national security’. Author and evangelical theologian Francis A. Schaeffer offers this: “In the realm of space and time, the heavenly battle is fought on the stage of human history.” A stage? A thought-provoking statement and a timely ‘revelation’. (FADE OUT.
