Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) gave an impassioned speech at a Senate Republican press conference last week, in which she told “brutalizing” stories experienced by people who came into the United States illegally and urged reporters to cover them. “It’s disgusting and it’s despicable,” she said. Ms. Britt also blamed President Joe Biden for the crisis. “Make no mistake, this is a result of failed policies. We could fix this,” she declared.
