FEDERAL MONEY TO STATES AND TO US UNIVERSITIES IS NOT A RIGHT.
IT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS CALLED. “A GRANT”.
If one understands the English language, one would understand that the word “GRANT” means money that is voluntarily provided for a purpose, not something owed, and a GRANT is made for a specific purpose, and if money is being spent in ways that do not comply with the GRANT, the Grant can be revoked.
Simple English.
One more point…
Do you believe that research being done at Harvard or Yale or Rutgers cannot be done elsewhere? Believe it or not, if Harvard is cut off of grants, Ohio State U or University of Central Florida, or a lot of other universities that do not pander to foreign students and antisemites, would love to get those grants to do research. The Ivy League’s advantage is anachronistic in terms of scientific innovation anyway, and they get grants only because of their power to lobby these days.
So, let Harvard sue the Federal Government to get $ Billions, but they have no case on the facts. Perhaps they should go back to school themselves to learn what the word “GRANT” means in the English language.
